This is a really good movie. I really loved the animation here. It's so cute and beautiful.
Though is a very innocent and child like movie, it covers a lot of heavy themes underneath.
The talk about the characters being integrated into family and country affairs, and the portrayal of the anti-war theme is a bit like Studio Ghibli. Environmental protection and war, development and peace focus on the complementary resources between the Kingdom of Gold and the Kingdom of Water serves as the topics underneath this cute movie.

Such a cute movie! During its screening at JFF Indonesia, my theater was filled with laughter. I haven't read the manga, but I enjoyed it, although I think it would be better as a series rather than a movie, as the story here was a bit rushed and lacked narrative depth. The visuals are pleasing—the characters have distinct characteristics in both personality and appearance, and the background and scene details are nicely illustrated. I love the relationship between the leads, Sarah, the princess of the Gold Kingdom, and Naranbayar, a young man from the Water Kingdom. Their chemistry is so enjoyable right from the start. I was definitely rooting for them lol

Watched this at AIF.
This is Romeo and Juliet with less drama and more cheese, which I absolutely love about this. The characters are strong and unique, and the comedic scenes were lighthearted and fun. I'll be looking out for more of Kotono Watanabe's future works; this is great start.

For most of the movie, I kept thinking, “This would have been better as a TV series.”
Ifelt like the relationship between the two leads would have benefitted from more screen time. Also, the scope of the story could have been much larger and deeper.
As it is, I felt like the story was too rushed and the resolution a little too simple.Now, I went into this movie knowing nothing about the background of the story. I didn’t know this was originally a manga series.
Therefore, my opinion above is as a person who is coming to the movie new, and not as an existing fan of the IP. I also could not comment on whether the movie accurately represented the original material. -

Please... choose always the more difficult way.
Byzantinisch-orientalisches Romantik-Abenteuer zwischen goldenen Wüstenstädten und prächtigen Waldwelten. Zwischen Liebe und Humor. Zwischen Adel und Plebs. Zwischen Hund und Katz.
Zwei Reiche bekriegen sich seit Ewigkeiten und der Friede soll durch Zwangsehen gesichert werden... Nicht neu, aber es entstehen dabei sehr komische Verwechslungsspielchen. Und auch wenn an ein eher weiblich-jugenliches Zielpublikum gerichtet (auch hörbar sehr begeistert und emotional bewegt;), hatte ich bis zum natürlich musikalisch-dramatisch unterlegten, action- und tränenreichen Ende meinen Spaß. Niedlichkeit und Schmalz nervten nie, da die nächste Slapstickeinlage und generell gut getimeter Humor immer wieder schnell parat waren.
Märchenähnliche Themen wie etwa die vertauschte Braut, sich bekämpfende Königreiche, Intrigen überall, gefährdetes Liebesglück... und doch wird alles gut; diese auch optisch bunte Rezeptur ging bei mir jedenfalls voll auf. Könnte mir bei einem Rewatch vielleicht sogar eine Aufwertung oder den Like vorstellen.
